Artist statement:

The work is an intuitive studie in embroidery as technique. Working with the fabric and coloured threads the same way I work with paper and pencil, placing the colours one after the other, letting them grow and melt together until they form some kind of world of their own. 
Working with a new technique, but in a way that feels familiar. 
Stinessen usually works with ceramics and illustration.
